I have the same piece you are asking about. My uncle brought it back from Europe many years ago. I wonder about it myself.

I have the same pieces. I have two of them with different scenes. I have been searching for information on them too. I don't think that they are plaster, they are Dresden china, made in the factory in Dresden, Germany. This factory is no longer there as it was destroyed pre-WWII.

My next step is to take these items to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. If you find something please let me know.

Hi, I have two of these framed Meissen art - they were stamped SANDIZELL GERMANY (founded in 1951) in blue on the back along with the description of the scense reminisent of the pastoral plays perfored in castle parks...each piece is framed in a gold gilded wooden frame, measuring 13 1/4" x 10 3/4". I believe they are made of porcelain. They also have the ALT MEISSEN ART labels on the back as well. If you have any questions or more information please email me at ckf3@msn.com.

I have two of these plaques both different. I have long wondered if they hold any value. I received mine from a deceased relative and have always loved and cherished them. I was excited to find this site with the same info that is on my plaques.

My sister and I have the same two pieces....I assume my grandparents got them in the late 40's when they were stationed in Austria. Has anyone found out the value of these items?

Found an auction site that valued them at 150-250, and the seller received 100 for the pair. I have a pair too!
