Re: Info Needed: THE AUTOMATIC RECORDING SAFE COMPANY Any luck with finding a key yet?
Re: Info Needed: THE AUTOMATIC RECORDING SAFE COMPANY Here's my observation on the "Traveling Teller" bank that uses the split key: the wire from the binder clip trick works perfectly, but be aware that the mechanism is spring loaded, and so the counter-clockwise turn (which is easily felt when you get it) must be held in that position as you pull on a hook inserted in the bottom. The metal of the bottom is REALLY soft, I'm afraid i did no good to the "mint condition" of my bank, as shiny fresh metal is now visible in the edge of the hole in the bottom.
I will say on the positive side, they made some amazingly artistic quarters in 1914!
Thanks immensely to the genius who figgered out the binder clip trick!!

I also have one I recevied from my 98 year old grand mother.
I'm thinking that they will be extreamly rare to find as only the tellers had the keys.
I'm thinking of fabracating a key?
Let me know if you find a souce on keys!
Cheers, Brett
