Vintage Japan Salt and Pepper Shakers

Early Japan Novelty Item

Items marked “Japan” are earlier than those marked “made in Japan”, or “made in Occupied Japan”.

“The McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 required that all imports be marked with the name of the country of origin. The Act was revised in 1914 to require that "Made in..." be added”.

Nice shape. The cork stopper of one shaker is inside the shaker.

These would look great on the shelf or counter of any “retro” kitchen!

Vintage Porcelain Donkey / Mule Ashtray

Vintage Porcelain Donkey / Mule Ashtray

No signs of ever having been used as an ashtray!
No odor or stains!

Made in Brazil, this is a very interesting cigarette ashtray, with donkey’s side bags to hold the ashes.

Fine grade of porcelain and a hand painted exterior with an unbelievable glaze.

It may be an odd type of cigarette service, but an attractive eye-catcher none-the-less.

Immaculate and pristine. Put a small plant in it!
